Home - The Yuelu Hills in Changsha
Lying on the western bank of the Xiangjiang River, they provide a natural barrier for Changsha. The peaks of the hills command a striking view of the city.The hills are covered with numerous ancient trees — pines ofthe “ Six Dynasties,”gingkos of the Tang and Song Dynasties, and pines, chestnut, maple and camphortrees of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. On one of the hills is Culushan Temple built in 268AD. Yuelu Academy , one of the four big academies in the Song Dynasty as well as the L0vely Evening Pavilion, the White Crane Spring, a stupa, the Beihai(North Sea) Tablet, the Yuwang (Emperor Yu) Tablet, the Rock from Afar, the Drum Ridge, the Snake Cave and the Yunlu Taoism Temple are all located on other hills.
